I was recently asked a question by someone in my Francophile community, Michelle S.
Why did I start blogging?
I started blogging because I really wanted to share my experience, my expertise and my voice. There was no one doing what I was interested in as a mature wife, mother and traveler. There were tons of young beauty/fashion bloggers and a few baby boomer bloggers but where were my 40+ girls at? I am a proud older mom that happens to travel as my profession. I have to be honest with you, I searched and searched and was not happy with what I found. I am not a hostel or backpacking girl and I LOVE a great spa treatment and don’t mind paying for it. So the budget/couch surfing blogs really did not appeal to me. So I decided to start my own blog. Let there be no mistakes, I travel and live for the experiences & the memories.
I also found that most family bloggers had more than one child and the majority of the advice was geared towards big families. Not us! We are a small family unit and we just simply love being together. And then there were the travel bloggers jet setting across the globe every other day, and that is not the way my family travels. We take the time to learn about the country and its culture, in essence, slow travel. I also love the fact that I can share my knowledge of a language, culture and city. I LOVE PARIS! Being able to share my passion with others who may be just as fascinated by France as I am is amazing. It keeps me going when a client tells me that my suggestion was the highlight of their trip. I wouldn’t change that for the world. So Michelle, that is why I blog and do what I do. Thanks for asking the question.
If you are a blogger, why do you blog? I would love to know!
