The Canal Saint Martin, or 10th arrondissement of Paris is a truly multicultural neighborhood and it is emerging as a new favorite for me. It is the home of the Place de la République and tons of bars, restaurants and clubs. It has two major train stations, Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord so you can get outside of Paris fairly easily. These two train stations are among the busiest in all of Europe. Eating along the Canal is really fun as well as a Seine river cruise with the locks is a favorite of my son Robert. My foodie pick is Favela Chic, it borders the 11th arrondissement, also a neighborhood worth checking out. You will feel the Brazilian beat with every bite!
