St. Sulpice Church Organ
The 20 meter organ at St. Sulpice Church, 6ème, Paris

You may have heard of St. Sulpice church from The Da Vinci Code or about the solar observatory, however this square is one of my favorite places to sit and read a book.  Located in the 6ème, St. Germain des Près area of Paris, this church is perfect in many ways.  It has an amazingly huge 20 meters tall organ that was built in 1781.  Its two 69 meters high spires are characteristic of the main neo-gothic style.  There are 21 small chapels inside this church.  The first chapel on the right side has three murals by Delacroix (one of my all-time favorite artists) which I love.  The Florentine façade is a true standout in the Parisian architecture of the neighborhood.  If you find yourself in the neighborhood, just head towards the River Seine on Rue Bonaparte and you can’t miss it.

Tip:  Sunday Mass is at 1030 am if you want to hear the beauty of the organ.

Bonus Tip:  Be on the lookout for actress Catherine Deneuve walking about, she has an apartment on this square.  I have personally seen her twice. Yeah!
