French women are known for being effortlessly chic and sophisticated and it really does all begin with the shoes.  Those who have lived and/or traveled to Europe know the importance of comfortable yet fashionable footwear.  There really is no in between.  Sure you will see women stepping out in heels, however most women wear sensible yet stylish footwear, specifically the ballerina flat.  This shoe was made famous in France by Brigitte Bardot and in the US by actress Audrey Hepburn in the 1960’s and is still a staple of Parisian footwear even today.  There are many different brands, styles and prices to choose from.  The Repetto brand has a rich dance history and the craftsmanship is unparalleled.  They run about 150Euro a pair yet I feel like I am a part of an exclusive club every time I wear them.  I purchased them in 3 colors during my first visit to the store and I am sure that I will add many more pairs to my collection as the years go by.   I found a design that I loved with a little rosette and scored them in red, tan and grey.
Love them!!!!!.

Tip:  Be sure to visit ballet flat flagship store of Repetto @ 22 Rue de la Paix  75002 Paris, France, for an homage to this iconic shoe.
